BP Monitor – Rossmax MW701F, XL Display, Dual User

The BP Monitor – Rossmax MW701F, XL Display, Dual User is the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor South Africans reach for when they want clinic-grade readings at home. You press one button, wait about 30 seconds, and the cuff inflates to the right pressure, measures, deflates, and stores the reading automatically. No nurse needed. No app required. No second-guessing the number on the screen.

What is the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor?

The Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor is purpose-built for the South African market. We’ve stocked blood-pressure monitors and accessories for over two decades, and we know which features clinicians and home users actually rely on — and which are marketing noise.

Inside the unit, the pressure sensor is calibrated against a mercury reference column at the factory, then re-validated against the European Society of Hypertension protocol before the unit leaves the production line. That means your first reading on day one will be within ±3 mmHg of the gold-standard auscultatory reading — the same standard your GP uses.

The housing is drop-tested to 1 m onto hardboard and the buttons are rated for 100,000 presses — the equivalent of three readings a day for 90 years. The cuff bladder is latex-free (important for the 8% of the SA population with a latex sensitivity) and the cuff wrap is replaceable when it eventually wears.

Who is the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor for?

The Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor is for three distinct users, and we’ve written this page to address all three.

Home users tracking their own blood pressure. If you’ve been told your blood pressure is borderline, or you’re on medication that needs monitoring, this unit gives you a record your GP can act on. Bring your last 30 readings to your follow-up appointment instead of trying to remember what you saw last Tuesday morning.

Family members and caregivers. If you’re tracking blood pressure for a parent, a spouse, or anyone in your care, the 2-user memory on this model means two people can share the device without mixing up their records. The reading history is per-user, recallable at the press of one button.

GP rooms, occupational-health clinics, and care homes. If you’re buying for a clinic, the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor hits the price/accuracy/throughput sweet spot: fast enough to keep your queue moving, accurate enough to make clinical decisions on, and reliable enough to keep running for years without intervention.

How to use it (and get a reading you can actually trust)

Using the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor is the same three-step process whether you’re a first-time user or you’ve been tracking your blood pressure for years:

1. Apply the cuff to your bare upper arm (or wrist, depending on the model), 2 cm above the elbow crease or directly over the wrist bone. The cuff wrap should sit snug but not tight — you should be able to slip two fingertips under the edge.
2. Sit quietly for five minutes. Feet flat on the floor, back supported, arm resting at heart height. Don’t talk during the reading.
3. Press the one large button. Wait. The cuff inflates, measures, deflates, and stores the reading automatically. Compare the colour-coded WHO bar against the chart in the manual.

For the most accurate reading, take three measurements one minute apart and average them. The first reading is often 5–10 mmHg higher than the next two — this is normal, and is caused by the mild startle response when the cuff first inflates.

Technical specifications

Why buy the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor from DocSurge?

DocSurge has been supplying South African clinicians, occupational-health practitioners, and home users with blood-pressure monitoring equipment since the early 2000s. We stock the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor because it consistently meets three criteria we refuse to compromise on:

• Accuracy you can defend clinically. Validated against the ESH protocol, with documented test reports available on request.
• Durability you don’t have to think about. Drop-tested housings, industrial-grade switches, replaceable cuffs and bladders. We have units in the field that are still in daily use after eight years.
• Back-up you can actually reach. Recalibration service, warranty support, and technical advice from staff who’ve actually used the equipment in a clinical setting — not a chatbot, not a script.

Compliance, warranty, and after-sales support

The Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor is CE-marked and SAHPRA-registered where applicable. The manufacturer operates an ISO 13485 quality-management system, which is independently audited every year. We provide a 1-year carry-in warranty as standard, extendable to 3 years with registration.

Recalibration is recommended every 12 months for clinical use and every 24 months for home use. DocSurge runs an in-house calibration service using a mercury reference column — turnaround is 3–5 working days, and we issue an ISO-traceable certificate with every calibration.

Common questions about the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor

Does the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor need to be calibrated? Out of the box, no — it’s factory-calibrated. For clinical use, we recommend annual recalibration. For home use, every 2 years. We can recalibrate any unit we sell.

Is the Rossmax MW701F blood pressure monitor compatible with the cuff I already have? In most cases, yes — the connector is a standard luer slip. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of your existing cuff and we’ll confirm before you order.

What’s the warranty? 1 year carry-in, extendable to 3 years with product registration on the DocSurge site. The warranty covers manufacturing defects — not damage from drops, fluid ingress, or unauthorised disassembly.

Do you ship to outlying areas? Yes. We ship anywhere in South Africa via courier. Free delivery on orders over R500 (main centres) or R10,000 (outlying areas).

Can I collect in person? Yes — our Johannesburg showroom is open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and Saturday 09:00 to 13:00. You can test the unit before you buy.
